Jennifer Williams

Born in Australia and currently residing in Rowayton, Connecticut, Jennifer Williams is a
contemporary oil painter known for her vibrant depictions of landscapes, cities, figures, and
abstract themes. Drawing from a rich artistic heritage that spans from ancient art to
impressionism, Williams's paintings evoke a sense of joy and light for the senses. With her use
of dynamic lines and forms, she captures the grandeur of nature with all its movement and
light.
Williams has a unique ability to blend reality with a touch of fantasy in her work. Stepping into
her studio, one is immediately immersed in her paintings. She masterfully captures the mystical
charm of a city illuminated by moonlight, the long shadows cast over lower Manhattan, the
warm ambiance of Parisian cafes, and the dazzling lights of Times Square. Her distinctive
technique of painting, texturing, glazing, and extracting on metal allows viewers to feel the
energy and excitement of her landscapes.
In addition to her cityscapes, Williams's botanical paintings expertly convey the essence of free-
spirited growth. In these compositions, familiar plants intermingle with imaginative botanical
creations. Placing the viewer directly within the midst of this plant-filled world, Williams offers a
perspective reminiscent of an insect's view. Large, vibrant flowers and intricate vines spill
beyond the edges of the canvas in a wild display. A keen observer of nature's rhythms and
patterns, Williams translates their beauty onto her canvases.
Williams holds a B.A. in business and has studied fine arts at Parsons School of Design in New
York City, as well as at the Rowayton Arts Center and Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut.
Her award-winning work can be found in collections all around the world – from the United
States and Europe to Asia, Australia, and the Caribbean. Most recently, her cityscape paintings
were featured in a national juried show at New York's prestigious Salmagundi Club.
Currently, Williams's paintings are on display in Paris, New York, and Connecticut, as well as at
the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. She is represented by Mary Martin Gallery
of Fine Art in Charleston, South Carolina; Sorokin Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut; Galerie
DDG in Paris, France; and White Horse Design in West Palm Beach, Florida. Williams is also a
member of the Artists Collective of Westport, Greenwich Art Society, and the Rowayton Artists
Collective. Jennifer is the great-niece of renowned Australian artist Moya Dyring, whose work
can be found in the collection of the Australian National Gallery.
