Rick Sarasin

Rick Sarasin has been creating images in clay for over 30 years. Modeling in clay since the age of around 9 or 10, Rick has always preferred expressing himself through the medium of clay and over 4 decades later he still does.
Rick started his career as a professional sculptor at the age of 19, having his first one man art show at the age of 23. Rick Sarasin has since exhibited and sold his work at art shows and galleries across the United States and his work is viewed worldwide. While still in his early 30's, with the help of his strong supporting family, Rick built his own small lost wax casting foundry, so he could fully develop his complex sculptural pieces without the need for an external foundry. "I found that having someone else cast my first one or two pieces of the edition didn't allow me to make cost or time effective changes once the work was cast." Having complete creative control was essential for Rick's intricate style in order to insure his vision was reached to the fullest.
For enlargements and multiple copies he works with several larger casting facilities. What makes a Sarasin sculpture unique is his attention to the finest details, and his compositions are some of the most intricate in the business.
By continuing to support Rick's art you are supporting the development of a talented artist as well as raise awareness of the various subjects depicted in Rick's work.
