Yury Darashkevich was born in Asipovichi, Belarus in 1962. He graduated from the Belarussian Academy of Arts in 1985. He has gone on to win several awards including Best in Show from SCA Members National Art Exhibition, Award of Excellence from Manhattan Arts International Magazine, and First Prize at White Art Festival. He has been a member of Society of Canadian Artists since 2009.

Of his work, Yury says, “It is all about motions and emotions that shape the fragile and unstable element of the human consciousness such as BEAUTY. Being a visual artist, I try to recreate the path of our intuition, which gives us visual preferences and shapes our definition of IDEAL. I guide the process of when a subject (model) becomes an image (painting/photo) and the 2D image transforms into the 3D object (ARTWORK). My works are about visual perception and the ways in which human forms respond to the color, line, shape, texture or pattern. I collect loose emotions as purposely-scattered elements of the image, and bring them back together to discover the definition of altered beauty.
